Colorado Springs Ultimate has partnered with Ultimate Ambassadors, a Denver-based nonprofit, to collect discs for kids in developing countries to promote the sport of Ultimate and the Spirit of the Game! And will provide donation bins at all league games for your old, usable discs.
Here is a message from Ultimate Ambassadors:
Dear Fellow Ultimate Player,
After playing Ultimate for a few years now, you’ve probably noticed that you have no more space. The trunk of your car, under your bed, your closet, your other closet . . . they are all full of discs that you no longer use.
Now you have a choice. You can keep the pile of discs in a corner, use them as your dog’s water bowl, use them as your favorite camping plate, or donate them to a really great cause. That’s us.
We are the Ultimate Ambassadors—a Denver-based nonprofit organization that will fly your old discs to kids in developing areas who have never seen them before. Our goal is to share the sport of Ultimate and to promote the Spirit of the Game with as many international communities as we can. We are planning our first trip to Central or South America for this Fall.
All you need to do is bring your dusty (but still usable/non-tacoed) discs to your local Ultimate league and place them gently in the Ultimate Ambassadors donation bins. That’s it. Easy. You clean out your closet; we make your discs feel appreciated again, and the whole World is a happier place.
However, if you think this is the coolest idea you’ve ever heard of and want to help out even more, we would love the donation of your time, money, or airline miles to help support our cause. Also, information on future locations to take the game of Ultimate is appreciated.
