The inaugural GRU Memorial Day Mixer will be held on Monday May 26 at the Pleasantview soccer complex in northeast Boulder. (If you've never played on the grass at Pleasantview, this is your chance to see how nice it is!) Notice this is a MIXER, not a tournament! Our intent is to create random teams with an even mix of skill levels, so everyone can meet new people and have a good time in the sun. Players of all skill levels are welcome, although we ask that you have at least a season of league play under your belt (to avoid possible frustration for anyone completely new to the sport). Teams will be created in the morning, play two games, and then reshuffle for two more afternoon games. The schedule is as follows: 9:30 - 10:00 registration, team assignments, warm-up 10:00 - 10:50 game 1 11:00 - 11:50 game 2 12:00 - 12:30 lunch break, re-assignment of teams 12:30 - 1:20 game 3 1:30 - 2:30 game 4 Cost is $10.00, payable by cash or check at registration. Games will be 50 minutes, played to time rather than points. We'll have a 10-minute gap between games for people to change fields, etc. GRU will be giving away sweet schwag to random players. We'll also provide water and fruit (although you may want to bring a light lunch). And finally, IZZE has graciously donated several cases of their awesome fruit drink for us. Walk-on registrations are welcome, but may be subject to availability depending on the number of players already registered and the field space. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
